AFCON 2025: The United States congratulates the Lions of the Atlas and hails the global momentum of Moroccan football
The day after Morocco’s brilliant qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations final, the United States Embassy in Morocco sent a warm and enthusiastic message to the Lions of the Atlas and to the Moroccan people as a whole. In a tone blending congratulations, cultural closeness and optimism, the American diplomatic mission praised the national team’s outstanding performance against Nigeria.
The message, published in Moroccan Arabic and in English, highlighted not only the talent and collective spirit of the Moroccan players, but also the international impact of their run, which has the power to inspire fans far beyond Africa, all the way to the United States. A symbolic reference was also made to the 2026 World Cup, co hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, presented as the natural continuation of this wave of passion and spectacle.
