Response to the Algerian regime and its media: Algeria has no right to lecture Morocco on morality
The Algerian authorities and their television channels and newspapers have recently seized on a minor incident, involving an Algerian influencer caught urinating in a Moroccan stadium and others burning Moroccan banknotes, to launch a smear campaign against Morocco. They denounce “arbitrariness,” “repression,” and a “lack of respect for rights.” A crude strategy that barely conceals an admission of discomfort: Algeria is unable to address its own internal crises, so it attacks its neighbor.

But what did the Moroccan authorities actually do? They simply applied the law and protected public order. They did not invent procedures, they did not fabricate cases, and they did not seek to humiliate anyone. They did what any dignified state must do: sanction inappropriate behavior in a public place. At the same time, Algeria allows itself to lecture Morocco, even though its cynicism had reached unprecedented levels just a few years ago.
Let us recall the facts of 2023 and 2024, because memory is a duty:
• Moroccan skiers targeted by gunfire in Saïdia, an extremely serious incident that has never been properly explained by Algiers.
• The body of Moroccan player Abdellatif Akhrif, found in Algeria, left for months in an inhuman administrative limbo, in disregard of religious rites and the dignity of a grieving family.
• Months of waiting for a simple death certificate, even though the procedure should have been a formality.
Algeria did not merely show a lack of respect. It instrumentalized a human tragedy to exert pressure on Morocco. And today, it dares to speak of “justice.”
Algerian media: propaganda and victimization
What is most shocking is not the attack on Morocco itself, but the method. An orchestrated, repetitive propaganda campaign aimed at constructing a narrative of victimization. The same media that turn a blind eye to crime, corruption, and social hardship suddenly become the mouthpieces of a so called “national cause” they are trying to manufacture.
They use an influencer to mask a failing state, incapable of cooperation, incapable of assuming its responsibilities, and above all incapable of honoring human dignity.
A cruel contrast: Morocco acts, Algeria blocks
Morocco handled the CAN incidents within the framework of the law, with professionalism. It protected spectators, ensured security, and dealt with cases transparently. Algeria, by contrast, accumulates blockages, delays, and silence.
The contrast is striking, and it says a great deal about the nature of the Algerian regime: a power that respects neither its citizens, nor religious rites, nor the basic rules of international cooperation.
Morocco does not need lessons from a regime in advanced decay
The Algerian regime and its media can shout, spread falsehoods, and seek diversion. That will not change reality. Morocco remains a stable state, respectful and capable of applying the law. Algeria, for its part, remains a regime that uses human suffering as a political instrument. And as long as this strategy persists, Morocco will not respond to hatred with hatred. It will respond with dignity, the law, and the truth.
