Ksar El Kébir: Residents Begin Safe Return Following Severe Weather
The gradual return of residents to their homes in Ksar El Kébir began on Sunday under the supervision of local and provincial authorities from Larache, in coordination with the relevant services, following an improvement in weather conditions.

Mobilized from the early hours of the morning, provincial services worked closely with National Security forces, Auxiliary Forces, and the Royal Gendarmerie to oversee and secure the return of residents to their neighborhoods under conditions designed to guarantee safety and order.
Residents arrived in Ksar El Kébir by train from Tangier, as well as by buses coming from Larache and other cities across the Kingdom. A rigorous and integrated operational plan was implemented to ensure smooth coordination and efficiency throughout the process.
Buses were inspected at three checkpoints located at the city’s entrances. This system allowed authorities to direct residents according to their neighborhoods and drop them off, or bring them as close as possible to their homes, with a focus on both efficiency and safety.
At the railway station, a significant transport arrangement was also deployed. Small and large taxis were mobilized and made available to residents free of charge. They were organized by neighborhood to streamline transportation and prevent congestion.
Speaking to the Moroccan press agency, several residents expressed emotional relief and happiness at returning to their city and homes after the difficult period caused by the floods. They extended their gratitude to King Mohammed VI for his attention and support following the disaster.
Residents also praised the efforts of the authorities and the various emergency services involved, noting that the strong mobilization reflected a clear commitment to addressing citizens’ concerns.
The return of families is unfolding in an atmosphere of relief and solidarity, supported by the continued presence of intervention teams and competent services ensuring on the ground monitoring.
The province of Larache had previously announced the activation of the return process for residents of several neighborhoods and districts in Ksar El Kébir. The decision notably concerns Bab Al Oued, the old medina, Gharsa Benjelloun, Chariâ medina, and parts of the Assalam and Al Hay Al Jadid districts. Additional neighborhoods listed include Annahda, Assaâda, Assalama, Al Moaskar Al Qadim, Al Massira, Adokhan, Al Arouba, Chorafae, Manakib, and Abi Al Mahassine.
Authorities added that any additional areas authorized for return, along with the timetable for subsequent phases, will be announced later through official notices and all available communication channels, depending on developments on the ground.
