Severe Weather: Larache Province Develops Integrated Operational Plan to Facilitate the Return of Evacuated Citizens
Local authorities in Larache province announced on Saturday the development of an integrated operational plan aimed at ensuring the organized, secure, and gradual return of citizens who were temporarily evacuated due to the exceptional weather conditions experienced in the province.

In a statement, the province indicated that, as an extension of the measures taken to guarantee a safe and orderly return, a comprehensive plan has been established to manage the process in successive phases. The plan identifies the transportation means mobilized, secured routes, and on-the-ground supervision mechanisms to ensure the smooth conduct of the operation and the safety of residents.
Authorities specified that the activation of the return process will begin on February 15 for residents of several neighborhoods and areas in the city of Ksar El Kebir. The decision notably concerns the Bab Al Oued neighborhood – the old medina – the Gharsa Benjelloun district (1st administrative annex), and the Chariâ – medina district (2nd administrative annex).
It also includes the Assalam neighborhood (groups “D”, “E” and “F”), Al Hay Al Jadid (groups “A” and “B”, 3rd administrative annex), as well as the neighborhoods of Annahda, Assaâda, Assalama, Al Moaskar Al Qadim, Al Massira, and Adokhan (4th administrative annex). Additionally, the neighborhoods of Al Arouba, Assalam, and Al Hay Al Jadid (5th administrative annex) and Chorafae, Manakib, and Abi Al Mahassine (6th administrative annex) are covered by the measure.
Within this framework, the province announced that starting at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 15, free trains will operate from Tangier-Ville station to Ksar El Kebir.
Buses will also be mobilized to transport affected individuals free of charge from several points to Ksar El Kebir, providing support and facilitating their travel under optimal conditions.
The statement added that additional areas concerned by the return, as well as the schedule for subsequent phases, will be communicated later through official notices and all available information channels, depending on developments on the ground.
Local authorities in Larache province urged citizens not to return to areas not mentioned in the statement until an official announcement is issued and water levels reach thresholds ensuring safe access and adequate reception conditions. This measure aims to preserve public safety and guarantee the proper organization of return operations.
To this end, organizational measures will be implemented on the ground, including the establishment of checkpoints at the entrances to the designated return zones. Access will be limited to targeted and authorized individuals to ensure that the return process proceeds safely and efficiently.
