Cold Wave in Fes-Meknes: 4,952 Families Receive Aid from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity

Ait Naâmane (El Hajeb) – Some 4,952 families in the Fes-Meknes region benefited on Monday from the “Grand Froid” operation, carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in implementation of the High Royal Instructions aimed at providing assistance to populations affected by the sharp drop in temperatures.

These families are distributed across the provinces of El Hajeb, with 594 beneficiaries from 19 douars in five territorial communes; Taounate, with 920 beneficiaries in the commune of Ouedka across two douars; and Taza, where 941 families from three territorial communes covering 30 douars received aid. Assistance was also provided to 1,397 families in the province of Boulemane, coming from five territorial communes spread over 19 douars.

Aid distribution operations were thus carried out on Monday in the provinces of El Hajeb, in the communes of Ait Naâmane and Tamchacht; Taza, in Bouiblane, Maghraoua and Tazarin; and Taounate, in the commune of Ouedka, while similar operations continued at a sustained pace in the provinces of Sefrou and Boulemane.

This initiative is supervised by field teams mobilized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, including staff from the General Directorate of Social Services of the Royal Armed Forces, as part of an ongoing logistical and human effort to ensure the success of the operation.

On this occasion, several beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for this generous Royal gesture. They also praised the efforts deployed by the Foundation and all stakeholders to ease the suffering of populations facing the difficult climatic conditions affecting the region.

According to data released by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and relayed by the Foundation’s Director of Communication, Sanaa Dardikh, the total number of families benefiting so far from the operation to combat severe cold, carried out in implementation of the High Royal Instructions, has reached 56,920 families nationwide. These families come from 1,316 douars belonging to 110 territorial communes across 21 provinces.

This initiative, implemented in close coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, is part of a program covering 28 provinces experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures and targets nearly 73,000 families.
