FAR Inspector General Leads Delegation on Working Visit to Mauritania

Rabat - On High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), a delegation led by Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, FAR Inspector General and Commander of the South Zone, is conducting a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on April 6-8, as part of the periodic meetings of the Morocco-Mauritania Joint Military Commission.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, was received on Tuesday in Nouakchott by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani, in the presence of Moroccan Ambassador to Nouakchott Hamid Chabar, according to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

On the same day, Lieutenant General Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR, visited the Mauritanian Ministry of Defense headquarters, where he held talks with Defense Minister Hanana Ould Sidi, who presented him, on behalf of the President of the Republic, with the National Order of Merit medal in the rank of Commander.

 

 

Subsequently, the FAR Inspector General and Commander of the South Zone and the Mauritanian Chief of the General Staff co-chaired the 6th Joint Military Commission.

Military officials expressed their satisfaction with the positive track record of cooperation in military relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the brotherly State of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the same source notes, adding that they praised concrete results of this fruitful cooperation, which serves as a model of strategic partnership.
