HM the King Congratulates Khaled El-Enany on Election as UNESCO Director-General
Rabat - His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a congratulatory message to Khaled El-Enany, on his election as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In this message, the Sovereign expresses to El-Enany His warmest congratulations and His best wishes for success in his senior position.
HM the King emphasizes that El-Enany’s elections by the members of the UNESCO Executive Council, as the first Arab figure to hold this prestigious position, testifies to their recognition of the high professional abilities and the rich experience acquired through different senior positions and governmental and academic functions that the newly appointed Director-General held in his sisterly country, Egypt.
The Sovereign notes that “this will undoubtedly represent a precious asset to enable you to contribute to the development of the international cultural institution’s performance to achieve its noble objectives of building the bridges of communication and understanding between the different peoples and cultures and to strengthen the cooperation and solidarity ties between them.”
On the same occasion, His Majesty the King expresses to the newly appointed Director-General of UNESCO the Kingdom’s unwavering support to all the ambitious initiatives and constructive strategic plans implemented by the international organization, as well as Morocco’s active involvement in its efforts to meet the challenge of sustainable development to which all the peoples aspire and to preserve and document global human and cultural heritage.
