Over 200 participants expected at the 16th edition of the Tanja-Lagouira Raid

More than 200 participants, including a strong presence from the Moroccan diaspora, as well as diplomats and representatives of institutions and economic actors, are expected at the 16th edition of the Tanja-Lagouira Raid, the organizers announced Wednesday in Casablanca.

At a press conference dedicated to presenting the event, scheduled to take place from November 1 to 13, they emphasized that this edition, which coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, will feature a stopover in Rabat, including a visit to the Moroccan Football Museum and a moment of reflection at the Mohammed V Mausoleum, a major site of national memory.

During the Laâyoune and Dakhla stages, participants will take part in the official festivities on November 6. Institutional meetings will also highlight investment opportunities and the vast economic potential of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.

The program also includes humanitarian and solidarity initiatives in partnership with local associations, aimed at supporting communities and strengthening social cohesion.

Speaking at the press conference, the president of the Nord-Sud Action Association, which launched the event, Omar El Alaoui Balrhiti, recalled that this raid, initiated in 2008, has established itself as a patriotic, cultural, and sporting gathering.

He stressed that the Tanja-Lagouira Raid is a meeting platform open both to Moroccans living abroad and to international visitors, helping to strengthen ties with the homeland and showcase the potential of the southern provinces.

For her part, Oumnia El Alaoui Balrhiti, co-organizer of the event, emphasized the special significance of this 16th edition, which combines adventure, discovery, and social action.

According to her, this raid is above all a journey of solidarity and remembrance, recalling, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, the importance of this founding event for national unity.

According to its organizers, the Tanja-Lagouira Raid contributes to promoting Morocco’s image by bringing together patriotism, tourism, parallel diplomacy, and territorial development.
