On February 15, 2026, the stunning setting of Lake Lalla Takerkoust hosted the 8th edition of the Trail Lac Lalla Takerkoust, bringing together more than 1,100 runners from 20 countries, including Canada, the United States, France, Morocco, Algeria, Japan, China, and Argentina. The event once again highlighted Morocco’s growing presence on the international trail and running scene.

Participants competed across several distances designed to suit all levels:

42 km – Victory went to Youssef Roumani of Morocco and Justine Leclerc of France, both delivering outstanding performances on a demanding and technical course.

21 km – Elbouzyry Bourhim of Morocco and Corinna Hobbs of the United States claimed first place, demonstrating remarkable endurance and determination.

10 km – El Kadiri Ayoub and Hasnae Brou, both representing Morocco, topped the podium, showcasing the dynamism and energy of the field.

Beyond competition, the trail also emphasized environmental responsibility. A waste collection initiative was carried out along the route, raising awareness among runners and visitors about protecting the environment and preserving the natural surroundings of the lake.

For younger participants, the Kids Trail offered a 3 km race, giving children the opportunity to experience sport in a spirit of healthy competition while enjoying the outdoors.
