Launch of 49 New Health Centers Across 9 Regions of the Kingdom
Morocco’s national healthcare system has been further strengthened with the launch, on Friday, of 49 new urban and rural health centers across nine regions of the Kingdom, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced.

The opening of these new facilities is in line with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at completing the reform of the national healthcare system, the Ministry said in a statement.
It also forms part of the government’s ongoing program to upgrade primary healthcare facilities, which includes the reconstruction, modernization, and equipment of 1,400 health centers throughout the country. The initiative is part of the national strategy to reduce territorial disparities in access to healthcare services.
These next-generation primary healthcare centers aim to enhance medical services in the provinces of the nine regions, bring essential care closer to local populations, meet growing healthcare demands, and improve quality, accessibility, and patient reception and orientation conditions.
To ensure the smooth and effective operation of these centers, a professional team of around 230 healthcare staff, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, has been mobilized to provide quality services to citizens.
The regions benefiting from the new facilities include Souss-Massa, where six new health centers have been launched across Taroudant (5), Tiznit (1), and Agadir Ida Outanane (1).
In the Rabat–Salé–Kénitra region, two new centers have been inaugurated in Rabat. In Drâa-Tafilalet, two centers have opened in Tinghir, while the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region now has a new dispensary in Laâyoune.
In Marrakech–Safi, 11 new urban and rural health centers have been put into service across Marrakech, Essaouira, and Al Haouz. In Béni Mellal–Khénifra, the new facilities are distributed between Khénifra (3), Béni Mellal (1), and Khouribga (1).
In Casablanca–Settat, eight centers have opened across Nouaceur (6), Mohammedia (1), and Settat (1). In the Oriental region, ten new centers have been launched in Nador (8), Driouch (1), and Figuig-Bouarfa (1). The Tanger–Tétouan–Al Hoceïma region has also seen its healthcare services strengthened with four new centers in Al Hoceïma (3) and Tanger-Assilah (1).
The Ministry emphasized that these facilities have been equipped with modern and efficient medical equipment, along with the necessary human resources to ensure proper medical and paramedical care for beneficiaries.
Each of the new centers will offer a comprehensive range of services, including general medical consultations, nursing care, chronic disease management (such as diabetes and hypertension), maternal and child health services, school health programs, health education and awareness, epidemiological monitoring, and mobile health services.
