EU Condemns Iranian Attacks in the Middle East

“The indiscriminate attacks by the Iranian regime against its neighbors could drag the region into a wider war, which we strongly condemn,” said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. “It is essential that the war does not spread further. The Iranian regime has choices to make,” she added on the social media platform X.

Kallas has convened an extraordinary videoconference meeting of EU foreign ministers on Sunday to discuss Iran and the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East. “I am in close contact with our partners in the Gulf region,” she noted.

In parallel, EU member state ambassadors are also scheduled to meet on Sunday to review the situation.
