President of Groupe Scolaire La Résidence, Nawal Hefiri, Awarded the Rank of Knight of the National Order of Merit

This distinction carries strong symbolic significance. It marks, for the first time, a tribute paid to an emblematic figure of education in Morocco, highlighting the central role of education in strengthening relations of excellence between the Kingdom of Morocco and France.

At the head of Groupe Scolaire La Résidence, founded in 1982, Nawal Hefiri embodies a bold and balanced educational vision, combining heritage, innovation and international openness. Under her leadership, the institution has established itself as an essential reference, offering a plural educational model through the French curriculum accredited by the AEFE, the Moroccan international program, as well as the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles.

Through this decoration, the French authorities, via the Embassy of France in Morocco, paid tribute to a sustained commitment to humanistic and inclusive education. Acting as a true cultural bridge, Ms. Hefiri’s work seeks to combine international academic excellence with deep respect for Moroccan identity and values.

A leading figure in the national educational landscape, she is also distinguished by her commitment to essential causes, notably the well-being and personal development of students, the integration of sustainable development and eco-citizenship into educational projects, as well as the recognition of the decisive role played by teachers in educational success.

The official ceremony for the presentation of the insignia took place on January 22 at the Embassy of France in Morocco, in the presence of numerous diplomatic figures and representatives of the educational community of Groupe Scolaire La Résidence, bringing together teachers, administrative staff, students and parents.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Nawal Hefiri emphasized that this distinction goes beyond individual recognition. It celebrates education as a fundamental lever of progress and pays tribute to the collective commitment of educational teams, united by the desire to train enlightened, responsible citizens ready to meet the challenges of the contemporary world.
