CGEM: Mehdi Tazi Enters the Race for the Presidency

Morocco’s business landscape is gaining momentum ahead of the upcoming elections of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM). Current Vice President General Mehdi Tazi has officially announced his candidacy for the organization’s top position, signaling his ambition to lead the country’s employers’ body.

A long-time active member within the CGEM, Tazi, who currently serves as second-in-command alongside Chakib Alj, aims to build on his experience to further support Moroccan businesses and strengthen the organization’s role.

For this bid, he has teamed up with Mohamed Bachiri, who is running for Vice President General. The duo highlights their complementary profiles and deep understanding of Morocco’s economic and industrial fabric, which they see as key to addressing the expectations of business operators.

In outlining his vision, Mehdi Tazi called for a “strong, united and influential” CGEM, capable of effectively defending the interests of companies while actively contributing to the country’s economic and social development. He also stressed the need for a more dynamic, innovative and inclusive organization, aligned with the ongoing transformations of the national economy.
