Agadir: End of the Academic Training Cycle for the “African Lion 2025” Exercise

As part of the “African Lion 2025” Exercise, held under the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the academic training cycle concluded on Friday at the headquarters of the Southern Zone General Staff in Agadir.

The conclusion of these trainings was marked by a certificate and diploma award ceremony for the benefit of 363 officers and non-commissioned officers, both Moroccan and from partner countries.

These 19 training sessions covered various fields and aspects related to the planning and execution of military operations.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Major General Mohammed Benlouali, Chief of Staff of the Southern Zone, and Colonel Drew R. Conover, Director of Training and Exercises at the Southern European Task Force of the U.S. Army-Africa (SETAF-Africa).

Launched on May 12, the “African Lion 2025” Exercise is being conducted until May 23 in the regions of Agadir, Tan-Tan, Tiznit, Kenitra, Benguerir, and Tifnit.

It aims to strengthen military cooperation between Morocco and the United States, enhance interoperability, and improve response capabilities in a multinational context—thus contributing to the promotion of security, peace, and stability in the region.

The 21st edition of the “African Lion” Exercise also includes parallel humanitarian and social activities.
