Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne praises the UN resolution and the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
The 17th edition of the MEDays Forum, held in Tangier under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, was marked by a strong and supportive message from the Caribbean. Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, expressed clear admiration for the recent United Nations Security Council resolution reaffirming the relevance of Morocco’s autonomy initiative. He also paid tribute to the strategic leadership of the Moroccan Sovereign.
A clear and confident stance: “Morocco now has fully consolidated international legitimacy”
Addressing participants at the forum, Gaston Browne left no room for interpretation. “The new resolution of the Security Council marks a historic step. It confirms the credibility, the wisdom and the strength of the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco. We warmly welcome it.”
According to the Prime Minister, the United Nations resolution “definitively consolidates Morocco’s international legitimacy over its Sahara” and opens a new chapter for regional stability.
Tribute to the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
Prime Minister Browne emphasized the strategic direction led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, describing him as “one of the most visionary and respected leaders in the developing world”.
He added, “The path Morocco has taken, its remarkable development and its exemplary diplomacy would not have been possible without the enlightened vision of King Mohammed VI. Morocco stands today as a model of stability, modernity and South South cooperation.”
For Gaston Browne, the Kingdom has become in recent years “an essential force of balance” in a rapidly changing regional and international landscape.
Morocco as a pillar of cooperation for island nations
The Prime Minister highlighted that relations between Morocco and Antigua and Barbuda are built on mutual respect, solidarity and tangible cooperation. Morocco’s progress in Africa, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, maritime logistics and humanitarian diplomacy is, according to him, a source of inspiration for many island states.
MEDays as a strategic hub for global dialogue
Gaston Browne also praised the organization and international relevance of the MEDays Forum, describing it as “one of the most influential platforms for understanding global geopolitical transformations”. He stressed the importance of this gathering, which brings leaders, experts and decision makers together to exchange views on major diplomatic and economic trends.
A clear message from the Prime Minister: the future is tied to Morocco
Speaking in Tangier, the Prime Minister concluded with a firm message. “The resolution of the Security Council confirms what many of us already knew: Morocco represents the path of stability, dialogue and development. Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom will continue to play an essential role for Africa, the Arab world and beyond.”
At MEDays 2025, the position of Antigua and Barbuda joined a growing number of states that recognize Morocco’s strategic role and the decisive impact of the leadership of His Majesty the King.
