Colombes: Consulate General of Morocco Brings Together Moroccan Associations of Hauts-de-Seine

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Colombes organised, on Monday evening, a reception in honour of Moroccan associations and professionals from Hauts-de-Seine (Paris region), marking a key moment of exchange with associative actors of the Moroccan community established in the department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General of Morocco in Colombes, Nadya Talmi, stressed that this initiative “is fully in line with the High Orientations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, who surrounds Moroccans residing abroad with His High Solicitude and places Moroccan human capital, wherever it may be, at the heart of the Kingdom’s development strategies.”

Highlighting that the Moroccan community is strongly present within the Colombes consular district, with more than 120,000 registered at the Consulate General, in addition to several thousand students, Ms Talmi noted that this community is represented notably by the associations present, coming from the 36 municipalities of Hauts-de-Seine and other areas of Île-de-France, “with the same strength of conviction and the same spirit of pride and attachment to the fundamentals of the Nation.”

She added that the wish of the Consulate General is to make this meeting “a launching pad for broader events, in their scope, their objectives and their impact, and more inclusive in their participation,” with the ambition of seeing the Moroccan community of Hauts-de-Seine “strengthen its position as a driving force for proposals, an inspiring model, making use of all the competitive clusters at its disposal, whether in new technologies, clean energy, international finance, aeronautics, or decentralised regional and territorial management, to name but a few fields.”

The diplomat also highlighted the role of the Moroccan community in the region as a “true bridge between Morocco and France,” underlining that it constitutes “a genuine actor of rapprochement and development, showcasing the potential and opportunities offered by Morocco, particularly to foreign investors.”

Ms Talmi particularly emphasised the importance of the levers of decentralised cooperation represented by associations, youth and Moroccan professionals strongly present within the Hauts-de-Seine consular district, calling in this regard for “collective reflection” aimed at identifying high-potential initiatives capable of generating wealth for both Morocco and France, within a win-win partnership, drawing on the reinforced exceptional partnership binding the two countries.

In a statement to MAP, Karim Basrire, executive member of the MeM by CGEM office and member of the association Maroc Entrepreneurs, based in France, welcomed this initiative, which made it possible to engage with all Moroccan associations and professionals in the department.

This event, he said, helps strengthen ties between local professionals and create lasting bridges with the Kingdom, notably through the development of structuring projects.

For her part, Naima Moghir, president of the international association “L’Ambassadrice,” considered that this initiative “revives ties and allows dialogue to be renewed with other Moroccan associations in France,” stressing the importance of integrating youth and new associative actors.

She concluded: “It is a very fine initiative, which paves the way for future cooperation between the different associations.”
