Rabat: Christophe Lecourtier delivers his final Eid Al-Fitr greetings to Moroccans as Ambassador

In Rabat this Thursday, March 19, His Excellency Christophe Lecourtier, France’s Ambassador to Morocco, extended his Eid Al-Fitr greetings in a message marked by both solemnity and emotion, addressed to the Moroccan people and to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

In a speech defined by warmth and respect, the French diplomat highlighted the values of sharing, solidarity and spirituality that define this major religious celebration, while reaffirming the strength of the historic and human ties between the two nations.

Yet this address carried a deeper significance. It marked Christophe Lecourtier’s final Eid message in his capacity as ambassador. After several years dedicated to strengthening Franco-Moroccan relations, he is set to leave his post in early May to take up his new role as head of the French Development Agency.

This transition gave his remarks a tone of gratitude and reflection. Speaking about his attachment to Morocco and its people, the diplomat paid tribute to the welcome he received throughout his mission.

Through these greetings, the message went beyond protocol. It stood as a sincere and symbolic moment, reflecting both the continuity of a special relationship between Morocco and France, and the departure of an ambassador clearly shaped by his experience in the Kingdom.
