Celebrating Women’s Excellence: ISJC Honors Fatima Abouali and Hind Zemmama

In Casablanca, the Higher Institute of Journalism and Communication (ISJC) came alive on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with a ceremony marked by emotion and pride, dedicated to celebrating female leadership on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day.

In a solemn atmosphere, the event opened with the national anthem, followed by a moment of reflection with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the late Talal Mohamed, founder of ISJC and a pioneer of academic journalism in Morocco.

Dr. Fatima Abouali, A Figure of Excellence and Commitment

The highlight of the ceremony was the tribute paid to Fatima Abouali, whose remarkable journey was showcased through a video portrait warmly received by the audience. A physician specialized in toxicology-pharmacology and sports medicine, she has established herself as a leading reference in her field.

As President of the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency (AMAD), Dr. Abouali embodies a rigorous and ethical vision of sport. Her ongoing commitment to combating doping and promoting integrity in sports has significantly contributed to Morocco’s international standing. Welcomed with emotion, she was awarded a recognition prize in tribute to her exemplary career, unanimously praised by peers and partners.

Hind Zemmama, Boldness at Its Peak

Alongside this prominent scientific figure, Hind Zemmama was also honored. The Moroccan mountaineer, known for reaching the summit of Everest and completing the “Seven Summits” challenge, represents courage, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. Her journey stands as an inspiration to a new generation of women determined to push boundaries.

An Inspiring Celebration of Female Leadership

Through this event, ISJC brilliantly highlighted exceptional female trajectories, illustrating the diversity and richness of Moroccan women’s contributions in demanding fields such as science and sport.

More than a tribute, the ceremony delivered a powerful message: that of a Morocco that values its female talent and elevates it as a model for future generations. Dr. Fatima Abouali, in particular, emerges as the embodiment of committed excellence, combining scientific rigor, ethics, and leadership in service of the nation.
