CAN 2025: Kylian Mbappé arrives in Rabat to attend Morocco vs Mali

Kylian Mbappé arrived in Rabat on Thursday afternoon with his family, according to L’Equipe. Accompanied by his parents and his younger brother Ethan, he will attend the Morocco vs Mali match on Friday evening at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium at 9:00 pm.

Mbappé is taking advantage of his short break, with Real Madrid set to resume training on December 29, to attend a match at the Africa Cup of Nations as early as Friday night. The France captain and number 10, who ended 2025 by equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals scored in a calendar year with the club merengue with 59, arrived in Rabat on Thursday afternoon, according to information from L’Equipe.

According to the French sports daily, Kylian Mbappé was invited to attend the Lions of the Atlas’ second match at the CAN Morocco 2025 on Friday at 9:00 pm against Mali at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat by Achraf Hakimi, his former teammate at Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappé will attend the match in the company of his family, his two parents and his younger brother Ethan, and his presence is expected to attract significant attention, similar to that of Zinedine Zidane, who was in the stands on Wednesday at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat to watch the strong performance of his son Luca Zidane with Algeria against Sudan, a 3 to 0 win. Mbappé is also expected to remain in Morocco until Monday December 29, the date of Real Madrid’s return to training, and to attend other matches in the tournament.

The Morocco vs Mali match could also mark Achraf Hakimi’s debut in the competition, although this remains uncertain, according to his coach: “Apart from Romain Saïss, who felt a slight muscle strain, Hamza Igamane and Achraf Hakimi, who are currently recovering, the group is ready. We will take the right decisions tomorrow regarding Achraf.”
