HM King Mohammed VI Appoints General Abdellah Boutrig as Head of the General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI)

A communiqué from the General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI), published Monday on its official website, announced that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, has appointed Brigadier General Abdellah Boutrig as Director General of the DGSSI.

An engineer by training from the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSEA) and a graduate of the Royal Military Academy of Meknès (class of 1987), Brigadier General Abdellah Boutrig also holds the Staff Course diploma, the Advanced Defense Course, as well as a Master’s degree in Security and Defense from the Royal College of Higher Military Studies.

Throughout his career, he has held several key positions of responsibility, including Director of Assistance, Training, Control and Expertise at the DGSSI, before serving as Deputy Inspector of Communications of the Royal Armed Forces.

This appointment is part of Morocco’s continued efforts in the field of cybersecurity and further strengthens its commitment to securing and protecting the national cyberspace, considered a strategic priority for the country’s digital transition.
