Kenya Commends Morocco’s Achievements in Mineral Resource Management
Kenya’s Minister of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, praised on Friday in Rabat the Kingdom’s achievements in transforming and modernizing the management of mineral resources.

In a statement to the press following a meeting with the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, Mr. Joho said that his country highly values Morocco’s approach, which focuses on developing value chains to avoid the export of raw minerals and promote their integration into industrial processes. He emphasized that this strategy helps create jobs, generate wealth, and support the industrialization of economies.
In this regard, he highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with Morocco, noting that the meeting is part of a broader reflection on the future of mineral resources, particularly critical minerals, as well as on prospects for collaboration between the two countries.
Mr. Joho reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to working closely with Morocco to ensure optimal valorization of mining resources, expressing confidence in the continued momentum of this partnership.
For her part, Ms. Benali stated that this meeting represents another opportunity to consolidate the close relations between Morocco and Kenya, relations that have grown stronger over the past few years.
She also noted that it is a timely occasion to deepen cooperation in several areas, particularly in the mining sector, which is experiencing significant growth in Morocco.
Furthermore, she underlined the importance of the Kingdom’s mineral wealth and resources, its solid institutional framework, investor-friendly regulations, and strong commitment to sustainability.
