HRH Princess Lalla Meryem Presides Over Inauguration Ceremony of Diplomatic Circle’s Charity ‘Solidarity Bazaar’ in Rabat

Rabat - Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Diplomatic Circle's charity "Solidarity Bazaar" on Saturday at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.

Upon arrival at the National Library of the Kingdom, Her Royal Highness reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces that was paying tribute, before being greeted by Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication; Naima Ben Yahia, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family; Mohamed Yacoubi, Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Governor of the Rabat Prefecture; Rachid El Abdi, President of the Regional Council; Fatiha Almoudni, President of the Municipal Council; Abdelaziz Driouich, President of the Prefectural Council; and Samira Malizi, Director of the National Library.

HRH Princess Lalla Meryem was also greeted by Maria Ciobanu, Ambassador of Romania; Saulekul Sailaukyzy, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Mawadda Omer Hageltoum El Badawi, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan; Isabelle Valois, Ambassador of Canada; Le Kim Quy, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Raja Youssefi, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia; Unielle Oupolo, spouse of the Ambassador of Gabon to Morocco, President of the Diplomatic Circle; and Yolanda Jah, Secretary General of the Diplomatic Circle.

After cutting the symbolic ribbon announcing the opening of the charity “Solidarity Bazaar,” Her Royal Highness was greeted by the spouses of the Ambassadors accredited to Rabat, before visiting the various stands at the Bazaar, where a wide variety of handicrafts and local products from several countries around the world representing different continents were on display.

At the close of the ceremony, HRH Princess Lalla Meryem posed for a commemorative photo with members of the Diplomatic Circle.

The charity “Solidarity Bazaar” is an annual event organized by the Diplomatic Circle in Morocco to celebrate friendship and solidarity and to support Moroccan NGOs working to help the most disadvantaged.

This event is the flagship activity of the Diplomatic Circle, whose members are the spouses of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Morocco.

Over forty countries and international organizations representing Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East are participating in the 2025 edition with a wide variety of products, including crafts, textiles, and works of art.

Participants come together with a common goal: to raise funds to support Moroccan NGOs working in the fields of education, health, and the advancement of women in rural areas, while enshrining values of fraternity, solidarity, and generosity in a climate of mutual understanding and respect between cultures and religions.

Through its various charitable initiatives, the Diplomatic Circle aims in particular to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Morocco and the diplomatic community.
