Aziz Akhannouch: The Government has given “primary” importance to the health and education sectors

Speaking at the 5th stage of the national communication tour “Massar Al Injazat,” organized in the Marrakech-Safi region in the presence of party leaders and local and regional elected officials, Mr. Akhannouch stressed that “the current government has made the health and education sectors a central axis of public policies, considering them as the foundation of any dynamic aimed at achieving social justice and reducing territorial disparities.”

Regarding education, the RNI president noted that “the rate of pioneer schools has now reached 50%, with generalization expected by 2027, which will serve as a real lever for improving the quality of learning.”

He added that in the field of health, significant progress has been made despite constraints, through increasing the budget allocated to the sector, the construction or upgrading of University Hospital Centers (CHU) in various regions of the Kingdom, as well as the creation of territorial health groupings.

At the same time, other programs have been implemented, including direct social assistance, the generalization of medical coverage, the increase in civil servant salaries and the minimum wage in the private sector, the reduction of the inflation rate, and the launch of the housing support program to facilitate families’ access to decent housing.

The RNI president also highlighted the major assets of the Marrakech-Safi region, describing it as a promising area for investment and development, while shedding light on several structuring projects initiated by the government in this part of the national territory.

These include the seawater desalination project in Safi to supply Marrakech with drinking water, which is expected to be operational by 2026 to strengthen the region’s water security, as well as the “massive” investment in the expansion of Marrakech-Menara Airport in response to the growing tourist demand enjoyed by the ochre city as a global destination.

In Al Haouz province, Mr. Akhannouch focused on the efforts deployed for the reconstruction of areas affected by the 2023 earthquake, recalling the holding of 16 follow-up meetings by the ministerial commission in charge, covering in particular the granting of direct financial aid to affected families, the construction of new housing, the rehabilitation of the road network, as well as the rehabilitation of schools and health facilities.

“The RNI has worked continuously over the past four years to strengthen the presence of government programs and ensure the sustainability of reforms,” he insisted, adding that “the current phase requires collective mobilization to complete the projects undertaken, one year before the end of the government’s mandate.”

Furthermore, the meeting was marked by the presentation of the government’s record in several vital sectors, including tourism, crafts, and the social and solidarity economy, as well as testimonials of local successes that benefited from public programs.

In parallel, members of the RNI political bureau held a series of meetings in the Marrakech-Safi region, devoted to examining current national and international issues, as well as discussing the party’s internal organizational aspects in preparation for upcoming electoral deadlines.

This tour is part of a series of meetings initiated by the RNI across different regions of the Kingdom, within a program aimed at assessing the government’s achievements, sharing future perspectives with party members and local actors, and strengthening communication with citizens.
