Raja: When Disinformation, Fake News and Slander Seek to Undermine Jawad Ziyat’s Reform Project, Based on Transparency and Excellence
For several days now, Raja Club Athletic has been the target of media attacks that are as repetitive as they are unfounded. The article published on Tuesday, February 10, by the website InfoSports, referring to an alleged suspension of salaries and an internal social crisis, clearly falls within a campaign of slanderous disinformation and fake news aimed at harming the legendary Casablanca club.

It is imperative to restore the facts: no Raja employee has been deprived of their salary. All club staff, administrative, technical and managerial, are indeed being paid. Speaking of “توقيف الأجور” (suspension of salaries) therefore amounts to pure fabrication, or at the very least a crude and misleading manipulation.
These false claims are all the more serious as they come in a very specific context: the return of Jawad Ziyat to the helm of Raja and the launch of a long-awaited reform process. During his most recent meeting with the media, the club president was clear and consistent: to make Raja an exemplary institution, founded on transparency, good governance, financial rigor and respect for people. This direction clearly unsettles certain enemies of the club.
Any organization that embarks on serious modernization necessarily goes through phases of structuring, clarification of roles and optimization of its operations. Equating these steps with a “social crisis” reflects either a complete misunderstanding of modern management or a deliberate attempt to cast discredit on a reform project.
Even more worrying is the biased nature of the InfoSport article, with anonymous sources, a lack of cross-checking and an alarmist tone, which reveals a blatant abandonment of the most basic rules of journalistic ethics. Informing is not extrapolating. Informing is not fueling tensions. Informing is not constructing an anxiety-driven narrative at the expense of a historic institution followed by millions of supporters.
Raja is not an ordinary club. It is a national heritage, a school of values and a popular passion. Weakening it through fake news means undermining not only its image, but also the peace of mind of its employees and the trust of its supporters.
It is legitimate to criticize, question and challenge. But this must be done on the basis of established facts. In this case, the facts are simple and undeniable: Raja is stable, its social commitments are being respected, and its leadership is acting in line with its promises.
In the face of disinformation campaigns, the best response remains the truth. And in the face of attempts at destabilization, the strength of a clear project will always prevail in the end. Raja is moving forward, despite lies and the low maneuvers of its enemies.
