Rabat: the exhibition “Africa, Heritage of the World,” a stop dedicated to discovering African World Heritage sites

This exhibition, initiated by the Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, UNESCO and Rabat Region Historical Heritage, unfolds as an immersive cultural journey combining photographs, trilingual interpretation panels in Arabic, French and English, and interactive digital features.

In a statement to MAP, Jonathan Yoambale Loola, a volunteer at the Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat, said that the exhibition is an invitation to travel, organized on the occasion of Morocco hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The long itinerary of the exhibition includes four stages where the public discovers major archaeological sites across the continent, the remains of cities shaped by ancient civilizations, sacred sites and religious buildings, as well as natural landscapes, he explained.

Moving from one space to another, the visitor travels from the Atlantic shores to the ports of the Indian Ocean via Mediterranean coasts, mountains, oases and plains. A world of stories, faces and gestures, woven both by the hand of man and by the force of nature, comes into view.

Allowing visitors to approach Africa and feel it, the exhibition invites them to dive into the depths of the continent’s memory and grasp its beauty and vitality, revealing heritage as a presence that links the past to the future.

“Africa, Heritage of the World: a journey through landscapes, civilizations and dreams” highlights the continent as one of the essential cradles of humanity, where its stones, sites and ancient routes bear witness to the intensity of exchanges that have taken place over the centuries and to the richness of African heritage in all its splendor.
