Hicham Balaoui Meets Mauritanian Minister of Justice Mohamed Ould Soueidatt

Hicham Balaoui, Attorney General of the King at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, received on Monday afternoon, October 20, 2025, at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Public Prosecution in Rabat, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, Minister of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, who was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Mauritanian justice sector.

The visit provided an opportunity to present Morocco’s experience through the Presidency of the Public Prosecution in strengthening the independence of the judiciary, managing public prosecution offices, and promoting good governance and transparency in judicial affairs.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the field of justice, particularly in strengthening the exchange of expertise, experience, and best practices in criminal justice.

For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Justice praised the strength of Moroccan-Mauritanian relations and commended the advanced level of Morocco’s judicial experience. He also expressed his country’s desire to further enhance cooperation between the two institutions.
