The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr Nasser Bourita, is travelling to Brussels this Thursday to co-chair the 15th session of the Association Council between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union.

This highly symbolic session marks a new stage in the high-level institutional dialogue between the two strategic partners. On the European side, it will be co-chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Ms Kaja Kallas.

The meeting will also see the participation of the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Ms Dubravka Šuica, as well as several Ministers of Foreign Affairs of EU Member States, reflecting the importance that the Union and its Member States attach to the partnership with the Kingdom.

The Association Council provides an opportunity to take stock of the multidimensional bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

Discussions will cover all pillars of the strategic partnership, ranging from political and security issues to economic, energy, digital and mobility-related fields. The session will also allow for an exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest, against the backdrop of a shifting geopolitical context.

This meeting is expected to represent a further step in reaffirming the strength of the unique partnership between Morocco and the European Union, while outlining the contours of a new, more ambitious and more integrated phase in this privileged relationship.
