Morocco’s Football Rise is Rooted in HM the King’s Strategic Vision – Federation’s Head

“We dedicate this triumph to His Majesty the King, whose vision has enabled the accomplishment of many feats,” Lekjaa told the press following the Moroccan national football team’s 2-0 victory over Argentina in the U-20 World Cup final in Chile.

He recalled that the Sovereign had outlined the major guidelines and roadmap for the development of national sports in general and football in particular during the National Sports Conference held in Skhirat.

“Since then, successes have built upon one another through the Mohammed VI Football Academy, where training serves as the cornerstone, producing top-level champions year after year,” he continued.

“Yesterday they shone in Qatar, and today, in Chile, they have become world champions,” he celebrated.

While congratulating the Moroccan people, as well as the Arab and African nations, Lekjaa emphasized that the Mohammed VI Academy, which remains an inexhaustible source of Moroccan football talent, will continue its mission of training players and technical staff.

“The successes we are recording today are the work of purely Moroccan expertise,” he affirmed, recalling that the coach of the Atlas Lions’ U-20 team, is a Moroccan technical staff member trained and operating within the Moroccan football system.

“This confirms that His Majesty the King’s vision for the development of Moroccan sport is both comprehensive and integrated,” he enthused.
