The French Institute of Morocco Takes Part in the 2025 International Book Fair for Children and Youth

The French Institute of Morocco is participating in the new edition of the International Book Fair for Children and Youth (SILEJ), which will be held from November 8 to 16, 2025, at Anfa Park in Casablanca.

This event echoes the theme of the Institute’s current cultural season, “J-Lioum, Here and Now,” which places young people at the heart of its programming, according to a statement from the French Institute of Morocco.

The third edition of the fair will celebrate “The Little Prince” as its special guest. A universal symbol of curiosity, tolerance, and openness to the world, this timeless masterpiece by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry invites visitors on a journey through worlds and cultures.

“The Little Prince” also pays tribute to the special bond between France, the author’s homeland, and Morocco, which was a major source of inspiration during Saint-Exupéry’s stay in Tarfaya. “This literary and cultural connection illustrates the richness of exchanges between our two nations and highlights the timeless resonance of Saint-Exupéry’s work,” the same source noted.

Once again this year, the French Institute of Morocco invites children and adults alike to explore a universe where books interact with creativity, imagination, and new technologies.

Designed as a true laboratory of discovery, the Institute’s space will offer an immersive experience centered on books, reading, and visual arts through interactive workshops, author meet-and-greets, writing games, augmented reality tools, and a variety of fun activities.

The public will have the opportunity to meet many Moroccan and French artists, authors, and illustrators invited by the French Institute of Morocco, including Nizar Akkaf, Anne Brugni, Naoual Charif, Mariama Diallo, Younes El Harroussi, Ismail Kass, Latifa Nejjari, Val Reiyel, Sophie Rohrbach, Cécile Roumiguière, Lili Scratchy, and the Mentor’Elles association, the statement added.

Their creativity will come to life through workshops in caricature, collage, children’s philosophy, manga, recycled art, and many other activities designed to spark the imagination of young visitors.

Attendees will also enjoy “The Little Prince: Fold, Dream, Share”, a special exhibition dedicated to Saint-Exupéry’s timeless masterpiece, a true symbol of brotherhood and wonder. As the special guest of SILEJ 2025, The Little Prince will guide visitors—young and old—through a poetic journey blending origami art and linguistic exploration.

Visitors will discover the story in various formats—comic book, pop-up, illustrated novel—and in several languages: French, Arabic, Darija, and Amazigh, while participating in creative folding workshops.

Another exhibition, “On the Tip of the Tongue – Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies of the World”, created by Zeina Abirached and produced by Bibliocité for the Paris libraries, will highlight the richness of oral traditions and world languages. It features a visual and sound journey based on a collection of 50 nursery rhymes and lullabies compiled by Nathalie Soussana and David Doucerain. The exhibition will run from November 5, 2025, to January 6, 2026, at Anfa Park (outdoor panels).
