Morocco–United States Strategic Partnership: Industrial Cooperation Focused on Future Minerals

The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to more than two and a half centuries of strong relations with Morocco, while expressing its willingness to strengthen this cooperation in strategic sectors of the future, particularly critical minerals.

U.S. Ambassador Duke Buchan III praised this dynamic during a meeting with Imad Toumi, Chairman and CEO of the Managem Group. He said he was particularly impressed by the visit to the cobalt sulfate processing unit, a pioneering facility in Africa that highlights Morocco’s industrial expertise and its growing position in global value chains for strategic resources.

This large-scale project reflects not only the Kingdom’s ambitions in the mining sector, but also the convergence of Moroccan and American interests in key areas linked to energy transition and industrial innovation. It is a promising form of cooperation that opens the way for new opportunities for shared and sustainable development.
