Atlas Lions Crush Uganda and Set a New World Record

Walid Regragui’s men have secured their 18th consecutive victory, a world record. The Moroccan national team delivered a spectacular attacking performance for the crowd at Ibn Battouta Stadium, sealing a brilliant 4–0 win over Uganda. A fully controlled match from start to finish, confirming both the rise in momentum of the Atlas Lions and the strength of the project led by Walid Regragui.

From the opening minutes, Morocco dictated the rhythm. The tone was clear: movement, precision, intensity. Azzedine Ounahi delivered the first warning in the 2nd minute with a curled strike, before Yassine Bounou reassured the back line by perfectly reading a Ugandan through ball.

It took only five minutes before the Tangier crowd erupted. Ismaïl Saibari, launched by Anass Salah-Eddine, broke through the flank and delivered a perfect low cross to the far post. Neil El Aynaoui arrived with composure and finished between goalkeeper Onyango’s legs. Morocco took the lead and never let control slip away.

A dominant technical display

Morocco’s pressing suffocated Uganda. Brahim Diaz, highly inspired, repeatedly pierced through the opposing lines. In the 29th minute, he came close to doubling the score but was denied by Onyango, before Bounou calmly stopped a rare attempt from Okello.

The breakthrough came moments later. In the 33rd minute, Noussair Mazraoui surged down the right and delivered a precise low cross. Ismaïl Saibari, once again perfectly positioned, slotted home with precision to make it 2–0 for Morocco.

The Lions played with freedom, confidence and total dominance. Full-backs brought numerical superiority, the midfield dictated every tempo, and the attack remained consistently threatening.

After halftime, Morocco restarted exactly as they had begun: with authority. Ounahi attempted another shot (47’), Amrabat anticipated every counterattack, and the defensive line remained perfectly structured.

In the 78th minute, Soufiane Rahimi, lively and relentless, earned a penalty after being brought down inside the box. He stepped up himself and calmly sent Onyango the wrong way in the 80th minute.

The Moroccan showcase concluded in the 88th minute. Akhomach found Bilal El Khannouss who, with a gesture of pure technique, opened his foot and placed the ball into the net. A clinical finish that sealed a stunning victory.

A statement performance from Morocco

With a dominant win, attractive football and total control, the Atlas Lions delivered one of their finest displays in recent months. Every line responded: defensive solidity, fluid attacking sequences, physical presence, creativity and clinical efficiency.

This performance confirms the ambition and maturity of the squad, which continues to progress under Walid Regragui. Against an overwhelmed opponent, Morocco showed cohesion, rhythm and technical mastery worthy of global football powerhouses.

The Tangier crowd understood it well: greeted with ovations, Morocco imposed itself with authority and sent a strong message ahead of its upcoming challenges.
