Marrakech at the heart of CAN 2025: Mohamed Ramadan records the tournament’s anthem

Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan has arrived in Marrakech, where he is filming the music video for the official song of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, which Morocco is set to host this winter. The information was confirmed by the artist himself during his appearance on the Egyptian television program “Aghmad 7”.

Captivated by the city’s distinctive aesthetics, the production chose Marrakech as the main setting for the video, banking on its visual richness and strong artistic identity. This choice comes at an advanced stage in the preparation of this emblematic track, which is expected to accompany one of the most anticipated editions of the continental competition.

Mohamed Ramadan recalled that this project marks his second participation in the official CAN anthem, after performing “Akwaaba” during the previous edition held in Côte d’Ivoire. An experience he says he is approaching with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, fully aware of the symbolic importance this song holds for African supporters.

The artist also stressed that this new collaboration reflects his clear desire to strengthen his presence on the African artistic scene. Contrary to a trajectory often focused on the Middle East, Mohamed Ramadan says he has long aspired to address audiences across the African continent and to establish a lasting connection with its cultural diversity.

Through this project, Mohamed Ramadan aims not only to reach a new milestone in his artistic career, but also to contribute to the international visibility of the Moroccan edition of CAN 2025, which is already shaping up to be one of the continent’s major sporting and cultural events.
