Rabat: AMMPS and ANRAC Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Registration Procedures for Cannabis-Based Products

The agreement was signed by the Director General of AMMPS, Samir Ahid, and the Director General of ANRAC, Mohamed El Guerrouj. It forms part of the implementation of Law No. 13-21 on the legal uses of cannabis and aligns with the missions of AMMPS, which is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of health products placed on the market, while also supporting the development of the sector, particularly the production and commercialization of products derived from this industry.

The initiative aims to continue and strengthen the efforts made by the two agencies to accelerate administrative procedures and simplify the processes applicable to operators seeking to submit registration applications for cannabis-based products.

It also seeks to ensure compliance with the quality, safety, and control standards applicable to cannabis-based products within a rigorous regulatory framework that meets public health requirements.

Through this partnership, AMMPS and ANRAC reaffirm their shared commitment to establishing a transparent and effective regulatory framework aligned with international standards. This cooperation will contribute to the responsible and structured development of Morocco’s national cannabis sector while ensuring the protection of public health and the safety of citizens.
