UAE Ambassador to Morocco Al-Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri: The Emirates Seek to Strengthen Their Economic Presence in the Moroccan Sahara
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Morocco, Al-Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, hosted a reception on Tuesday evening in Rabat to mark the 54th anniversary of his country’s National Day. On this occasion, the diplomat expressed the UAE’s commitment to expanding its economic presence in the Moroccan Sahara.
The ceremony, notably attended by the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, along with figures from the political, cultural and media spheres, as well as representatives of foreign embassies in Morocco, saw Al Dhaheri reaffirm that the United Arab Emirates, bound to the Kingdom of Morocco by deep fraternal ties, maintain a firm position and unwavering support for the Moroccan Sahara issue, as well as a constant commitment to defending the Kingdom’s legitimate rights.
Al-Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri stressed that this support goes beyond political positions and is also reflected through the UAE’s determination to strengthen its economic presence and investments across all regions of the Kingdom, including the southern provinces. He noted that his country aims to launch high-quality investments that will contribute to the sustainable development of these provinces.
He also extended his sincere and warm congratulations to the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco — its King, government and people — following the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution confirming Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, marking a decisive step toward a definitive and lasting political solution.
The Emirati Ambassador further underlined that relations between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates represent a model of strong fraternal ties, built on mutual respect, shared interests and a long-standing history of cooperation and coordination in various fields.
He also praised the crucial role of King Mohammed VI, as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in supporting the Palestinian cause, commending the Sovereign’s tireless efforts in favor of peace and stability in the region.
“As we celebrate this special anniversary, we look to the future with great optimism and to the opportunity to elevate relations between our two brotherly countries to the highest level, so they may stand as an ideal model worthy of the profound ties that unite our two peoples,” the diplomat said.
