Mohamed Saad Berrada Visits Several Educational Institutions in Al Haouz Province

The Minister of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, carried out a field visit on Monday to several educational institutions in Al Haouz province, as part of ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen the education system at both regional and provincial levels.

During this visit, Mr. Berrada, accompanied notably by the Director of the Marrakech–Safi Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF), Abdellatif Chaouki, and the Provincial Director of National Education, Mohamed Zerrouki, visited the central school of the Asni Primary School Group, located in the commune of Asni. The institution was completely rebuilt under the National Program for the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Educational Establishments Affected by the Al Haouz earthquake.

On this occasion, explanations were provided to Mr. Berrada and the accompanying delegation regarding this “Pioneer School,” which, during the 2025–2026 school year, welcomes a total of 585 pupils, including 266 girls, across all levels of primary education.

Speaking to MAP, the Director of the Asni School Group, Karima El Khaqani, stated that the establishment, which includes two satellite schools, was among those totally destroyed by the Al Haouz earthquake. This situation initially required the use of prefabricated classrooms, within which the “Pioneer Schools” project was implemented through its various approaches.

She added that, during the current school year, the institution moved into its main building following its complete reconstruction and full equipment, noting that schooling conditions are reassuring and that all classrooms meet the required standards to allow pupils to pursue their studies in good conditions.

Several pupils, for their part, expressed in similar statements their joy at joining a modern and well-equipped educational space that offers a supportive and motivating environment for learning. They also shared their determination to make greater efforts in order to achieve strong academic results.

In the commune of Tidili Mesfioua, Mr. Berrada and the accompanying delegation also visited the “Manarat Al Maârifa” upper secondary school, which opened for the 2025–2026 school year as part of efforts to expand the educational offer and bring upper secondary education services closer to pupils.

The creation of this establishment, which accommodates a total of 480 pupils, including 284 girls, across different levels of education, aims to respond to growing demand for schooling, reduce travel constraints, and improve indicators related to access to and retention in upper secondary education.

On this occasion, Mr. Zerrouki welcomed the construction of this upper secondary school, which seeks to encourage schooling and combat school dropout, particularly among girls, given the educational and social services it provides, notably catering, boarding facilities and school transport.

He recalled that the completion of this educational establishment is among the projects launched by the supervising ministry, in line with the objectives of the 2022–2026 Roadmap, which places the learner at the heart of the educational process and aims to promote a high-quality, equitable and integrated public school system.

For their part, pupils studying at this institution stated in similar remarks that the school represents an “important” asset for the local population, due to the favorable schooling conditions it offers. They also expressed their determination to succeed in their academic paths in order to achieve their future ambitions.
