Rome: Neil El Aynaoui and His Family Victims of Violent Nighttime Burglary

AS Roma midfielder Neil El Aynaoui went through a deeply distressing ordeal after his home in Rome was targeted in a violent burglary during the night from Monday to Tuesday, around 3 a.m.

According to initial reports from Italian news agency ANSA, a group of six individuals dressed in black, masked and armed, managed to break into the residence after forcing a gate leading into the living room. Once inside, they quickly took control of the house.

The Moroccan player, along with his mother, partner, brother and his brother’s partner, was forced at gunpoint to gather in a single room, where they were held for the entire duration of the intrusion.

The attackers then searched the property and made off with several valuable items, including jewelry estimated at nearly 10,000 euros, a luxury Rolex watch and designer bags.

Italian media, including Corriere dello Sport, reported that the occupants were caught off guard in their sleep before being restrained by the assailants, who appeared to act in a coordinated and well-prepared manner. Verbal threats were reportedly used to prevent any resistance from the victims.

Police were quickly dispatched to the scene, and an investigation has been opened, led by the mobile brigade under the supervision of magistrate Roberto Giuseppe Pititto. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the Infernetto neighborhood in an effort to identify those responsible for the attack.
