Ghizlane Benjelloun named UN personality in Morocco for 2024

Ghizlane Benjelloun has been named UN Personality in Morocco for 2024 on the United Nations Day, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Morocco announced on Thursday in Rabat.

This honor is awarded to Benjelloun in recognition of her long-standing commitment to children’s mental health and the promotion of their rights, according to a press release from UN Morocco.

“All the UN agencies based in the Kingdom of Morocco recognize, through this designation, a woman’s passionate commitment to Morocco’s young generations and their well-being,” the UNDP Resident Coordinator in Morocco, Nathalie Fustier, said, noting that today’s children are the actors of tomorrow, bearers of hope and change for a better future.

For her part, Benjelloun dedicated this honor to every person who fights for children’s rights, because their future and the future of our society depend on our ability to place their mental well-being as an absolute priority.

On this occasion, Benjelloun will receive a certificate from the Director of the UNESCO Office for the Maghreb, Eric Falt, the same source added.
