Royal Air Maroc Launches New Direct Route Between Casablanca and N’Djamena
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) inaugurated on Wednesday its new direct air service linking its Casablanca hub with N’Djamena, the capital of Chad.

This milestone marks an important step in the implementation of the national carrier’s strategic development plan, further consolidating its position as a leading airline in Africa, RAM said in a statement.
The inaugural flight took off from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca at 11:40 p.m. (local time) and landed at N’Djamena International Airport at 5:05 a.m. (local time). Operated twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the new service strengthens RAM’s African network, which now includes 29 direct routes across the continent.
Highly anticipated, this new connection responds to growing demand from customers in Chad, particularly those seeking onward travel to Europe and the Americas.
On this occasion, RAM Chairman and CEO Hamid Addou declared: “The launch of this new direct route to N’Djamena reflects our commitment to the African continent and is fully in line with our development plan, in accordance with the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the advancement of South-South cooperation.”
He added: “Each new route we open strengthens Casablanca’s position as a major global connectivity hub and reaffirms our airline’s leadership as a benchmark in African air transport. We are proud to offer our customers an ever-expanding network, along with a travel experience that meets the highest international standards.”
The opening of this line to Chad is part of RAM’s continental strategy to expand its African footprint, facilitate intra-African exchanges, and reinforce connections between Africa and the rest of the world. It also highlights the airline’s ambition to move beyond its historic focus on West Africa by expanding further into Central and Eastern Africa.
At the same time, RAM’s accelerated fleet modernization, through the introduction of newer and more efficient aircraft, is being prioritized for African routes, ensuring greater comfort, reliability, and safety for passengers in line with the most demanding international standards.
With its steadily growing network and flight frequencies, Royal Air Maroc reaffirms its commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse customer base while promoting Morocco’s attractiveness as a leading destination and a major global air hub, the statement concluded.
