The Ministry of the Interior called on Friday on all citizens to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution and to take all preventive measures and necessary precautions, following the updated alert bulletins issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasting severe weather disturbances over the coming days in several regions of the Kingdom.

In a statement, the Ministry urges citizens in particular to refrain from crossing road sections likely to be submerged, as well as wadis and low lying areas that may experience flooding or sudden runoff.

It also calls on people to avoid any imprudent behavior that could endanger the physical safety of individuals, others or property, stressing the need to strictly comply with the instructions and directives of the public authorities and the competent intervention teams.

The Ministry further recommends postponing non essential travel and trips, especially in the regions affected by these weather disturbances.

On the operational level, the Ministry of the Interior points out that the local authorities, in close coordination with all the relevant services and sectors, have taken a series of anticipatory and preventive measures to deal with the possible effects of these weather conditions.

All available arrangements have been placed on maximum readiness in order to ensure rapid intervention, to provide assistance and support whenever necessary and to preserve the safety of citizens and their property.
