Casablanca to Host CorpsAfrica Pitch Day Highlighting Community-Driven Projects Across Morocco
Fifth edition set to connect volunteers, donors, and leaders around grassroots innovation

Casablanca is set to host the fifth edition of CorpsAfrica/Morocco’s Pitch Day on March 28 at the Complexe Culturel Anfa, bringing together volunteers, decision-makers and partners around a shared objective: transforming local ideas into tangible, sustainable projects. The event is positioning itself as a key platform where community initiatives gain visibility, support and funding.
At the core of Pitch Day is a participatory approach that places local actors at the center of development. Volunteers engaged in communities across Morocco will present their projects directly to potential donors, business leaders and institutional stakeholders. This format encourages direct exchange, allowing each initiative to be assessed not only on its vision but also on its concrete impact on the ground.
Around 150 guests are expected to attend, including diplomats, entrepreneurs and representatives of civil society. Beyond financial support, the event aims to expand networks and strengthen partnerships, offering volunteers access to resources that can help bring their projects to life.
Four projects will be featured in the main pitching session and evaluated by a panel of judges with experience in social initiatives and nonprofit collaboration. Each proposal reflects a specific local need addressed through a community-based approach.
One project focuses on economic empowerment for women and girls in Tamgounssi through vocational training and the strengthening of cooperatives. Another initiative in Tinmel seeks to develop sustainable tourism through the creation of an eco-friendly guesthouse. In Douar Matat, a community-based beekeeping project aims to support livelihoods and improve agricultural productivity. Meanwhile, in Amezough Al-Qibli, a women’s handicraft cooperative project is designed to increase income and improve access to markets.
In addition to the pitches, the event will include an interactive gallery walk showcasing other community projects alongside products from local cooperatives. This space is expected to offer attendees a closer look at the realities behind these initiatives and the communities driving them.
The program will also feature discussions and networking sessions aimed at encouraging greater engagement in volunteering and social entrepreneurship. These exchanges are intended to inspire new collaborations and reinforce a culture of giving and civic involvement.
Through this initiative, CorpsAfrica/Morocco continues to promote a development model rooted in empowerment and local ownership. By training young Africans to work directly with communities, the organization supports a shift toward solutions designed from within rather than imposed from outside.
As Pitch Day approaches, the focus is not only on funding projects, but also on strengthening a broader movement built on trust, initiative and shared responsibility. In that sense, the event reflects a growing belief that lasting change begins at the community level, driven by those who understand it best.
