HM the King Extends Condolences to Portuguese President Following Tragic Gloria Funicular Derailment
Rabat - His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a message of condolences and compassion to the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, following the tragic derailment of the funicular in Gloria, central Lisbon, which resulted in several casualties.
In this message, the Sovereign expressed deep emotion upon learning of the tragic accident.
In these painful circumstances, HM the King extended to Rebelo de Sousa—and through him, to the bereaved families and the friendly Portuguese people—His heartfelt condolences and deep compassion.
“Morocco expresses solidarity with Portugal and fully shares in its mourning,” the Sovereign wrote.
