Cold wave in Ifrane and Boulemane: Over 1,600 households supported by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity

The provinces of Ifrane and Boulemane have been at the center of a large-scale relief operation carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, with more than 1,600 households assisted on Wednesday as part of a campaign to mitigate the effects of the cold wave affecting several regions of Morocco.

On the seventh day of the campaign, launched under the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, 1,610 households in the area were scheduled to receive aid, including 1,000 households in Ifrane, spread across 34 douars in three communes: Tizguite, Bensmim, and Tigriga.

Two intervention sites were set up: Tizguite (400 households) and Irklaoune (600 households), with the foundation’s teams actively present on site. In the Fès-Meknès region, where the operations began last Sunday, six provinces are involved—Sefrou, El Hajeb, Taounate, Boulemane, Taza, and Ifrane—covering a total of 12,173 households across 336 douars in 36 communes.

In Ifrane, about 2,600 households from 105 douars across three communes benefited from support distributed on December 23 and 24.

Residents in Tizguite, Bensmim, and Irklaoune expressed heartfelt gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing the human and professional approach of the operation. Fatima, a mother of three in Tizguite, said, “It’s an immense relief for our families. We receive not only essential products but also a strong message of support and attention. We know this initiative reflects the constant High Solicitude of HM the King for His subjects, especially in rural and isolated areas.”

In Irklaoune, farmer Ahmed highlighted that the aid complements ongoing efforts to cope with harsh weather conditions: “We are grateful for this support, which directly reaches our homes thanks to the Foundation and the Royal Impulse.”

For Khadija, a homemaker in Bensmim, the assistance carries a significant moral dimension: “It’s a huge moral encouragement. It shows we are not forgotten. We deeply appreciate the High Solicitude of HM the King, who ensures that every citizen receives dignified and adequate support.”

Young father Youssef praised the organization and professionalism of the teams: “The Foundation’s staff are on the ground with patience and efficiency. They take the time to listen, answer our questions, and make sure each household gets what it needs. This reflects HM the King’s particular attention to the well-being of residents in remote areas.”

Through the support provided to Ifrane’s 1,600 households, as well as beneficiaries in Boulemane and other provinces, a sense of recognition and hope emerges. Residents note that these efforts strengthen social cohesion while offering concrete assistance to the most vulnerable families.

The initiative illustrates the ongoing commitment of HM King Mohammed VI to national solidarity and highlights the critical role of the Mohammed V Foundation in implementing projects that directly improve living conditions, particularly in rural and isolated regions.

On Wednesday, foundation teams were deployed across nine provinces: Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Berkane, Boulemane, Ifrane, Oujda, Jerada, Taourirt, and Figuig. On December 24 alone, 7,061 households from over 168 douars in 21 communes benefited from the aid.

Nationally, between December 18 and 24, the operations reached 74,909 households from 1,751 douars in 151 communes across 25 provinces.
