CAF Champions League: AS FAR Knock Out Pyramids to Reach Semi-Finals
AS FAR secured their place in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League after a crucial 2-1 away victory over Pyramids FC on Saturday at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, in the second leg of the quarter-finals.
The Moroccan side made an early statement, opening the scoring in the 9th minute through Reda Slim before doubling their advantage in the 54th minute thanks to Rabii Hrimat.
Pyramids FC responded in the 62nd minute with a goal from Fiston Mayele, but the Egyptian side failed to complete the comeback despite late pressure. The first leg in Rabat had ended in a 1-1 draw, allowing AS FAR to progress with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
With this result, the Military club books its spot in the final four of the competition, confirming a composed and effective performance over both legs.
In the semi-finals, AS FAR will face the winner of the tie between RS Berkane and Al Hilal Omdurman, with the outcome set to be decided following their return leg scheduled for Sunday.
