Khénifra: Continued mobilization to break the isolation of populations following snowfall
The efforts deployed on the ground by the local authorities, in coordination with the various concerned services, are continuing at the level of the province of Khénifra in order to mitigate the repercussions of the bad weather recorded in recent days.

These involve a set of proactive measures and operational interventions aimed at preserving the safety of citizens and the continuity of basic services, particularly in the mountainous communes, led by the commune of Aguelmame Azegza and the surrounding areas.
This operation is part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Provincial Monitoring Committee, which called for raising the level of vigilance and mobilizing the necessary human and logistical resources, while strengthening coordination between the different stakeholders in order to guarantee the speed and effectiveness of intervention in the face of the cold wave and snowfall.
The commune of Aguelmame Azegza has experienced, since the beginning of last week, significant snowfall that caused traffic disruptions and temporary interruptions on certain road axes, requiring immediate interventions to break the isolation and restore traffic flow, particularly in the most affected areas.
In this context, several communes of the province have seen continuous interventions that have made it possible to reopen provincial and regional roads. These actions are being carried out within the framework of close coordination between the local authorities, the Provincial Directorate of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Civil Protection and the Royal Gendarmerie, as well as other concerned services, in order to respond effectively to the urgent needs of the population.
The governor of the province of Khénifra, Mohamed Adel Ihourane, carried out field visits to several affected communes, notably Aguelmame Azegza, to see firsthand the snow-clearing operations and to review the measures deployed to deal with this situation.
In a statement to MAP, the Provincial Director of Equipment, Transport and Logistics in Khénifra, Abdelkrim Nacer, indicated that the directorate is working to mobilize the required human and logistical resources, in permanent coordination with the provincial monitoring committee and the authority agents, in order to follow the situation on the ground and take the necessary measures in real time.
Mr. Nacer specified that these measures concern, in particular, the pre-positioning of the necessary equipment at critical points that are usually subject to recurrent closures during the winter period. He stressed the adoption of proactive interventions to avoid closures or reduce their duration, while ensuring the permanent availability of technical teams and specialized equipment.
These measures also fall within the framework of a global approach adopted by the provincial authorities of Khénifra, aimed at strengthening the culture of prevention and establishing the principle of anticipation, through awareness-raising and the mobilization of citizens, in order to minimize potential risks and preserve lives and property, particularly in mountainous and isolated areas.
