Moroccan Parliament Takes Part in the 24th Winter Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
A Moroccan parliamentary delegation took part in the proceedings of the 24th winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), held on February 19 and 20 at the Hofburg Congress Center in Vienna.

This participation comes within the framework of the sustained momentum characterizing the diplomatic action of the Moroccan Parliament, aimed at strengthening its presence within multilateral parliamentary forums and consolidating its active engagement in international debates related to issues of security, stability and sustainable development, according to a statement from the legislative institution.
It also reflects the Parliament’s commitment to strengthening cooperation relations and political dialogue with the Kingdom’s partners, particularly within the European space, in a manner that serves common interests and reinforces bridges of understanding and rapprochement.
The work of this 24th session was marked by in-depth discussions within the four committees of the parliamentary assembly, where participants addressed several current international issues, notably the strengthening of international security and peace mechanisms amid accelerating geopolitical changes, in accordance with the Helsinki principles.
The meetings also examined mechanisms to safeguard the integrity of electoral processes in the face of hybrid threats and attempts at external interference, as well as the growing interactions between geo-economics, technology and security, and the challenges and opportunities they generate in a rapidly evolving international context.
On the sidelines of the session, the Moroccan delegation held high-level talks with the president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons, as well as with his special representative for Mediterranean affairs, Pascal Allizard.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to commend Morocco as a reliable and stable partner in the region. Both sides agreed to broaden the prospects of bilateral cooperation in order to include new strategic issues, while highlighting the Kingdom’s central role as a genuine bridge between the Euro-Mediterranean and African spaces.
The Moroccan Parliament holds the status of Mediterranean Partner for Cooperation with the OSCE.
For the House of Representatives, the Moroccan delegation included MP Marouane Chbaatou, member of the National Rally of Independents group, and MP Khalid Hatimy of the Authenticity and Modernity Party group. For the House of Councillors, the delegation included councillor Chaimae Zemzami of the RNI group and councillor Lahcen Ait Isha of the PAM group.
Several parliamentary delegations representing member states and partners took part in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s winter session, alongside experts, diplomatic representatives and academics specializing in the strategic issues on the organization’s agenda.
