Morocco: Legislative Elections to Be Held on September 23, 2026

The Moroccan government has officially set the date for the next legislative elections. Voters will be called to the polls on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 to elect members of the House of Representatives.

The announcement was made by Mustapha Baitas, government spokesperson, during a press briefing held following the Government Council meeting on Thursday in Rabat.

During the meeting, the executive examined and adopted draft decree No. 2.26.190, presented by the Ministry of the Interior.

The text officially sets the date of the vote and outlines the different stages that will frame the electoral process, particularly the deadlines relating to the submission of candidacies.

According to the information provided by the government, candidates will be required to submit their declarations both through a dedicated electronic platform and to the administrative authority responsible for receiving the applications.

The decree also defines the timetable for the electoral campaign.

The campaign will officially begin on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the first hour and will end on Tuesday, September 22 at midnight, just a few hours before polling stations open across the Moroccan territory.

This organization is part of the implementation of Organic Law No. 27.11 relating to the House of Representatives, promulgated by Dahir No. 1.11.165 of October 14, 2011, which governs the functioning and election of the Lower House of the Moroccan Parliament.
