FIFA Backs Moroccan Talent Development Program Led by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation

The national program dedicated to developing young football talents in Morocco, overseen by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, has received strong recognition from FIFA, which is considering adopting the model and implementing it in several African countries.

As part of its international talent development initiative, the global governing body conducted two visits to Morocco to closely examine the national project and assess the mechanisms used to identify and train promising young players.

During these visits, FIFA representatives toured several Moroccan clubs, including Wydad Athletic Club, Raja Club Athletic, FUS Rabat and RS Berkane. They expressed admiration for the quality of work being carried out within these structures and for the organization of youth development programs across the country.

Encouraged by the effectiveness of the Moroccan approach, FIFA plans to organize a seminar in Morocco in April 2026 focused on the development and training of national-level coaches.

The international body, which already provides financial support to talent development initiatives across Africa, will also collaborate with the Moroccan federation to assist certain clubs participating in the national program in upgrading their infrastructure. The financial contribution will not be paid directly to the clubs but will instead be channeled through the federation, which will distribute the funds according to the specific needs of each participating structure.
