Ramadan 2026: Al Aoula Reinforces Its Role as a Unifying and Forward-Looking Public Channel

As Ramadan 2026 approaches, Al Aoula is set to further consolidate its position as a central pillar of Morocco’s audiovisual landscape, reaffirming its role as a trusted, family-oriented public broadcaster that combines innovation with social responsibility.

The channel enters the holy month from a position of clear leadership. During the previous Ramadan, Al Aoula reached more than 10 million viewers at iftar time, while its drama productions and news programs consistently attracted between 8 and 9 million viewers each. This strong television presence has been mirrored online, with the SNRT accelerating its digital transition through the “Forja” platform, which now exceeds 4.5 million downloads, reflecting changing viewing habits and the growing demand for multi-screen content.

Building on this momentum, Al Aoula’s Ramadan 2026 lineup is designed around renewed storytelling approaches and narratives rooted in social reality. The channel aims to redefine family television by blending contemporary formats with authenticity, offering content that resonates with viewers while remaining aligned with the spiritual and cultural atmosphere of the holy month.

Remaining faithful to its public service mission, Al Aoula is once again placing socially engaged Moroccan fiction at the heart of its prime-time offering. Two major drama series will anchor the prime ftour slot, with “AACH TMAA”, directed by Ayoub Lahnoud, addressing the issue of child trafficking, and “CHKOUN KAN YGOUL”, directed by Safae Baraka, focusing on domestic violence against women. Another drama, “Sediq”, scheduled for Monday evenings at 10:30 p.m., explores autism spectrum disorder, contributing to broader public awareness through powerful storytelling.

Alongside these socially driven productions, the channel is strengthening its family entertainment offer with comedies airing at ftour time, including “ATTAMANE”, featuring a wide cast of popular actors, and “AL MARDI”, starring Haitham Miftah and Oussama Ramzi. This balance between entertainment and engagement reflects Al Aoula’s ambition to serve diverse audiences without compromising its public responsibilities.

Documentary programming also remains a cornerstone of the Ramadan grid. In line with its mandate, Al Aoula will showcase a selection of innovative documentary series in the late evening, exploring themes of discovery, spirituality, cultural heritage, and social diversity. These productions aim to foster reflection, preserve collective memory, and strengthen Morocco’s spiritual and cultural identity during the sacred month.

Innovation continues to shape the channel’s creative direction. As a key driver of national production, the SNRT is highlighting original formats, including the 100 percent Moroccan animated series “AL MOUFATICH SAADANE”. Al Aoula is also expanding its immersive content with the return of “MATIHCH ALA LBAL”, presented by Meryem Zaimi, which comes back for a second season every Tuesday in prime time.

More than a television channel, Al Aoula positions itself as a space for social connection and shared values. Through a diverse programming mix that brings together strong fiction, meaningful documentaries, and spiritually inspired content, the channel seeks to make Ramadan 2026 a moment of collective emotion, reflection, and togetherness for Moroccan families.
