Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency Launches Social Aid Operation for the Villages of “Nabi Samuel” and “Al Jadira”

The Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency launched on Wednesday its annual social aid operation for the villages of “Nabi Samuel” and “Al Jadira,” located northwest of Al-Qods, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Organized under the supervision of Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Director in charge of managing the Agency, and attended by several public figures, the operation included the distribution of food baskets to beneficiary families in the village of “Nabi Samuel.” In the village of “Al Jadira,” near Al-Qods, ready-made meals for iftar (breaking the fast) were distributed to vulnerable groups, in an atmosphere of solidarity reflecting the values of mutual assistance associated with the blessed month.

The lists of beneficiaries are prepared by social specialists according to precise criteria that ensure fairness and transparency in distribution, while taking into account coverage of various neighborhoods of Al-Qods, its camps and villages. This approach guarantees that aid reaches those entitled to it and enhances its social and humanitarian impact.

This year’s social aid program includes the distribution of 5,000 food baskets containing 22 essential products for needy Palestinian families in the Holy City and in villages within the Al-Qods Governorate. It also provides food supplies to social centers to enable the preparation of nearly 20,000 daily iftar meals throughout the month of Ramadan.

The initiative further includes the distribution of Eid Al-Fitr clothing to 500 orphans supported by the Agency, the organization of medical campaigns for the population, and religious evenings dedicated to remembrance, religious chants, and the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

The program also features training sessions for Palestinian associations focused on capacity-building in commercial marketing and the development of human development projects, with the aim of ensuring sustainable income sources.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, Mr. Cherkaoui stated that launching the operation from villages in northwest Al-Qods carries symbolic significance, reflecting the Agency’s commitment to reaching the most vulnerable populations, particularly in areas facing increasing social and economic challenges.

He added that the Agency continues its work according to a comprehensive vision that integrates humanitarian, social, and developmental dimensions, in line with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Qods Committee under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, with the aim of supporting the resilience of the Maqdissis and strengthening their presence in their city through various social and development projects and programs.
