Morocco–Vatican Relations: Rome Conference to Address Geopolitical Challenges and Interfaith Dialogue
A conference titled “Current Geopolitical Challenges and the Role of Interreligious Dialogue: The Example of Moroccan and Vatican Diplomacies, Interactions and Perspectives” is set to take place next Wednesday in Rome. The event is organized by the Embassy of Morocco to the Holy See in partnership with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Held to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and the Holy See, the high-level meeting will bring together prominent Moroccan and Vatican figures from religious, diplomatic, and academic backgrounds.
Relations between the Kingdom and the Vatican are rooted in a long-standing historical and spiritual heritage. They go beyond narrow political interests, reflecting a shared vision centered on coexistence, peace, and human dignity.
According to the organizers, both sides are committed to promoting a living spirituality and fostering harmonious cooperation, making interfaith dialogue a key driver of international peace and stability.
In the face of today’s geopolitical challenges, Morocco and the Vatican continue to work closely to position their partnership as a meaningful force for peace and development.
This cooperation is part of a broader values-based diplomacy, built on dialogue, the promotion of exchange, and an approach that takes into account the complexities of the international landscape.
